Edwards nXRi dry multistage roots pumps recieve My Green Lab ® ACT ® Ecolabel certification

    GLOBAL | 28 July 2026 | 3 min

At Edwards, we are pleased to share that our nXRi 30/40/60/90/120 dry multistage roots pumps are now ACT Ecolabel‑certified.

Verified environmental data for laboratory equipment

The ACT Ecolabel provides third‑party‑verified data on a number of environmental data for laboratory equipment across a number of impact categories. For the nXRi pumps, this includes:

    • Improvements implemented at our Lutin, Czech Republic manufacturing facility
    • Renewable energy sourcing
    • RoHS-compliant material and chemical management
    • Material disclosures for both product and packaging
    • Measured energy consumption
    • Expected service life
    • End-of-life return options

By publishing this verified information in the ACT Ecolabel Database,  we are promoting Accountability, Consistency and Transparency. These principles guide how environmental impact data is collected, verified and shared.

This also helps the scientific community compare vacuum pump technologies using consistent and reliable data. It is one more way we align with our sustainability commitments across the Atlas Copco Group.

Oil-free operation and practical laboratory benefits

Our nXRi pumps remove the need for oil disposal, which supports more efficient laboratory workflows. And by adopting the ACT Ecolabel Standard, we are also supporting customers who want clearer insight into the environmental impact of the equipment they rely on.

Access to ACT Ecolabel certification and data

All nXRi pumps will be equipped with a front‑side QR‑code label that links to the Edwards official ACT Ecolabel guide with additional product impact information.

The graphic below outlines the anatomy of the ACT Ecolabel, explaining how the different elements contribute to a transparent view of product impacts.

    The ACT Ecolabel product tag

    A. This category is either yes or no

    B. Detailed scoring explanations for each category are outlined in the verification guide

    C. The sum total of all values equals the Environmental Impact Factor

    D. ACT labels are valid for two years from the date of issue

    E. Regional labels capture the differences in the Shipping and End of Life impacts for each region (US, EU, UK) in which the product is sold. The regional labels also showcase how the energy usage may vary across the markets and reports the water usage in units specific to the market (gallons per day or liters per day) for equipment.

    F. These values are graded on a scale of 1–10, with 1 indicating the lowest environmental impact and 10 indicating the highest environmental impact

    G. These values represent actual daily consumption and apply only to equipment

    H. A lower number indicates a lower overall environmental impact

ACT Ecolabel certifications are valid for two years, we are committed to reviewing and improving our certification in each cycle, in line with evolving requirements.

With the ACT Ecolabel now in place across the nXRi range, we remain committed to providing clear, reliable information that helps our customers make informed choices.

The ACT® registered trademark is owned and controlled by My Green Lab Inc. More details at https://act.mygreenlab.org.
