Indirect pressure measurement gauges: ideal for use in lower pressures
Indirect pressure measurement gauges measure pressure-dependent properties, such as thermal conductivity, making them ideal for use in lower pressures where the number density of particles is low, and hence it is not possible to measure an accurate pressure directly.
Pressure measurements with these gauges are gas-type dependent, therefore correction factors can be used to read the correct pressure according to the specifics of your system.
These gauges offer precise readings across a broad range of pressures, suitable for various industrial and scientific applications. Discover the capabilities of our indirect pressure measurement gauges, including Pirani and ionization gauges, and learn how to select the right gauge for your specific requirements.
For enhanced integration and control, we offer digital variants of some of our most popular gauges such as nAPG200 - Pirani gauge, nAIM200 - Inverted Magnetron gauge and nWRG200 - Wide Range gauge. These digital versions feature RS232 or RS485 communication interfaces, allowing for easy integration with PCs or PLCs without the need for analogue controllers. This option is especially useful for systems requiring direct digital inputs and precise monitoring.
APG Pirani Gauges
The Active Pirani Gauge (APG200) is suitable for all vacuum markets, from analytical instruments who can take advantage of the reduced size and flexible outputs, to semiconductor for whom the new interfaces and light rings enable better maintenance of systems, to research & development where the local pressure indication helps to monitor experiments away from the main interfaces.

AIM Inverted Magnetron Gauges
The Active Inverted Magnetron (AIM200) Gauges provide accurate measurement over the vacuum range of 1 x 10-2 a 1 x 10-9 mbar.
This gauge is rugged and reliable in a wide range of applications, ranging from scientific instruments to industrial processes.
The AIM200 Gauge is an inverted magnetron gauge head and gauge controller combined into a single compact unit, and features a very low external magnetic field, coupled with an improved striking mechanism making it ideal for use with sensitive analytical instruments or in applications where the gauge needs to be mounted in close proximity to sensitive equipment.

WRG Cold Cathode Combination Gauges
The Wide Range Gauge (WRG200) offers the capability of single port pressure measurement in the range atmosphere to 10-9 mbar, covering not only initial chamber pump down, but also process pressures all in one.
The WRG200 Gauge is rugged and reliable in a wide range of applications ranging from scientific instruments to semiconductor and industrial processes as it utilises the latest in filament Pirani and cold cathode technology.
An all-in-one gauge giving you the advantage of switching from the rough vacuum sensor to the high vacuum sensor automatically and has a low magnetic stray field to ensure no interference with the surrounding environment.

The nWRG is the digital counterpart of the WRG200, maintaining the same footprint and performance while offering the flexibility of digital communication. This makes it ideal for applications where precise and direct digital pressure readings are required.
APGX-H Linear Convection Vacuum Gauges
The Active Linear Convection Vacuum Gauge (APGX-H) has a wide measuring range from 1333 to 3 x 10-4 mbar.
The use of convection technology ensures accuracy and sensitivity are maintained to the top of the pressure range compared to conventional Pirani gauges, which lose accuracy above 100 mbar.
The gauge is compact and may be mounted in any orientation, simplifying installation where space is limited.
WRH Hot Cathode Combination Gauge
The Active Hot Cathode Wide Range Gauge (WRH) offers the ability to measure from atmosphere to 10-10mbar with a single gauge, with accuracy and repeatability.
The WRH gauge utilizes 2 measurement methods (Bayard-Alpert & Pirani) in a single package, giving you everything you need to measure and control your system.
With analogue and RS485 output available via the D-SUB connector, 2 onboard relays and easy calibration, control and monitoring is simple.
Utilising the included software, you can easily track and log your system’s performance and also make adjustments to the gauges behaviour, such as setting the set points or changing the output scaling.
This gauge is the perfect companion for many applications, from R&D institutes to high-end mass spectrometry through to general industry.
Passive Gauges
Edwards Passive gauges are gauge heads without onboard electronics: well suited to environments with high amounts of radiation or very high ambient temperatures.
Whilst active gauging now dominates the market, there are still niche applications in which passive gauging is supreme. These include any application where having electronics close to the experiment would result in failure of the device.
Drive electronics are still needed to control the gauge, but these can be kept remotely in our dedicated controller that can be placed up to 50m away from the gauge to give a “local” display and pressure output to your system.
The head that is attached to the system only contains the items needed for the physical measurement and all other electronics is contained in the controller.
As such the controller and cable must be specific to the desired gauge.
Rugged and accurate solutions for the harshest environments: perfect for High Energy Physics and R&D applications where radiation would damage a normal active gauge’s electronics. These gauges have a long and proven track record in such environments.
With these applications often requiring Ultra High Vacuum pressures, our passive gauges have the widest measuring range, able to achieve measurement down to 2 x 10⁻¹² mbar with our IG40-EX range.
