Our Facility

At Product Company Haverhill, we play a critical role in the Edwards global R&D and production capability for customers in the semiconductor market. Opened in 2023, our state-of-the-art 136,000 square foot facility in Massachusetts is home to R&D, manufacturing and warehousing for our cryogenic pump and chiller business.

Our team is working on some exciting technologies, innovative ways to increase production capacity, and effective cost-saving measures to better the environment. We hope to provide solutions and inspiration for other facilities, with an open invitation to partner with other Edwards and Atlas Copco entities in developing new technologies for the future.

Our Products

The products produced by Edwards Haverhill are crucial to the manufacturing of the expanding global semiconductor industry and leading engineering markets.

CTI-Cryogenic Pumps & Compressors: From our single cryopumps used in a spectrum of high technology research applications to our sophisticated cryopump systems used in the manufacturing of semiconductor, flat panel, and optical devices, CTI-Cryogenics sets the standard for cryogenic high-vacuum technology.

Polycold Chillers: Polycold cryochillers are closed loop cryogenic refrigeration systems that provide up to 4,000 watts of cooling power with temperatures as low as -200 C. They can be used to condense water vapor within a vacuum process to significantly improve pump down time and vacuum quality. Polycold products can also be used in direct cooling applications like cooling electro-static chucks used in semi-conductor production or cooling various sensor technologies for improved signal capture.

Our Women in Engineering

We are lucky to have many talented engineers at PC Haverhill, including four female engineers who were chosen to be featured as part of Atlas Copco’s female engineering program.

A film crew came to the facility to shoot videos of all four in their daily job roles as engineers. These videos were part of a marketing initiative called “Women in Engineering” where they met with 7 leading female engineers from across North America, to learn more about them, and their journeys.

The four women featured from Edwards Haverhill are: Lead Mechanical Engineer-Sustaining Ita Kane; Cryogenics Technologist Lydia Shen; Cryogenics Technologist Homa Ghasemi; and Mechanical Engineer Alana Guilbault. The videos were featured at the Society of Women Engineers Show in Chicago, and can be seen on Atlas Copco’s YouTube page.

Atlas Copco built the PC Haverhill facility with sustainability in mind.

It’s with that level of commitment and care for our planet that we are very proud to share some exciting news. Edwards Vacuum (PC Haverhill) has officially achieved its LEED Gold Certification following acceptance of the Design and Construction Final Review.

LEED Gold certification represents a significant achievement in sustainable building practices, and indicates that a building has met stringent sustainability criteria and demonstrates a commitment to environmental stewardship.

WELLBEING & INCLUSION

Cryo Crew Softball is a Hit

Sharing quality time outside the office with fellow employees and being a part of the Haverhill community is what this team is all about. Improving the culture and bringing the facility together through wellbeing and inclusion.

The Cryo Crew is the only softball team in Haverill's Recreation League made up entirely of employees from the same company. In doing so, the team embraced their diversity and welcomed inclusion. They actually found strength in their differences, and celebrated the small victories of the team..

Even when the loses piled up, the teams attitude became stronger, and the team grew stronger. It wasnt about winning, it was about the comradely, the team building, the inclusion and diversity, and most of all, the fun of playing a simple game with your colleagues and enjoying their company. This simple mindset has made the Cryo Crew stronger and resilient. It has kick-started something that you can feel in the culture at Edwards PC Haverhill, and this is just the beginning.

Edwards Wins Local Award

PC Haverhill was recently honored by the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce Small Business Development Committee. During the ceremony, Edwards was recognized in the Manufacturing category for positively contributing to the growth and development of small businesses and helping drive their region’s economy. Accepting the award was Electronics Team Leader, Betzy Rivera, and SHE/Facilities Manager, Chris Mahoney.
