At Edwards, we specialize in cutting-edge vacuum solutions tailored for the rigorous demands of space simulation and research. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our comprehensive range of products, from advanced ion vacuum pumps used in planetary exploration to versatile systems ensuring spacecraft readiness through meticulous leak testing and ultra-high vacuum conditions.
Our solutions are engineered to support the groundbreaking realm of space exploration, meeting and exceeding the stringent NASA testing standards. Whether you are looking for a turn-key systems for thermal vacuum testing or roughing pumps for large chamber evacuation, Edwards Vacuum equips you with the technology to test and validate under the exact conditions your space missions require.
Vacuum Solutions for Space Applications:
Onboard Spacecraft Spectrometry
Ensuring accurate readings in the vacuum of space.
Thermal Vacuum Systems (TVAC)
Mimicking the harsh conditions of space to test spacecraft durability.
Bakeout Systems
Removing contaminants from spacecraft components under vacuum.
SmallSat Propulsion Testing
Validating the performance of compact satellite propulsion units.
Large Chamber Pumpdown
We offer a wide range of rouging vacuum pumps that can be used for creating the ideal conditions for full-scale tests.
Altitude Simulation
Simulating the upper atmosphere conditions met during missions.
Compliance with Standards for Space Qualification
Navigating the stringent NASA GSFC-STD-7000 and NASA-STD-7012A standards is no small feat. Edwards Vacuum simplifies this with robust vacuum and leak testing solutions. Whether you need a turn-key system for thermal vacuum testing or the components to assemble your own, we provide reliable setups that meet and exceed these rigorous space qualification.
Turn-Key Space Simulation Systems
Perform pre-launch test requirements in-house with Edwards TVAC Bake-Out and Thermal Vacuum Cycling Test Systems. Thermal vacuum bake-out chambers (under high vacuum conditions) allow a controlled bake-out procedure for any kind of flight hardware like electronical or mechanical devices, multi-layer isolation foils or instruments. Our thermal cycling systems for simulating space conditions in a vacuum are available in all sizes – from a few liters for testing small objects such as printed circuit boards and CubeSats to several thousand cubic meters for the verification of entire spacecrafts and large satellites.
Vacuum Pumping Solutions
Our in-house capabilities for pump sizing and system design allow us to offer unique solutions ranging from small to large chamber evacuation duties. Features of our systems include:
- High Efficiency: Optimal performance for chambers larger than 4,000 m³.
- Compact Design: Minimal footprint with scalability.
- Low Noise and Vibration: Ensuring undisturbed operations.
