RV Two Stage Rotary Vane Pumps
The ultimate range of small oil sealed rotary vane pumps
A compact pump with excellent vapour handling capabilities
Our RV series rotary vane pumps are rugged pumps that offer you an excellent ultimate vacuum pressure with high pumping speeds of 3-12 m3h-1, as well as superior vapour handling capabilities and quiet operation.
RV range of two stage rotary vane pumps
Edwards RV series of vacuum pumps have become the industry standard with over 400,000 units sold. This success has been based on field proven design and reliability in a wide range of scientific and laboratory applications and environments.
RV pumps are configured to meet your vacuum needs with a mode selector and 2 position gas ballast that allows either 60 g/hr or a class leading 220 g/hr (290 g/hr on RV12) of water vapour to be handled. This is ideally suited for your wet pumping applications such as freeze drying, extraction, filtration and gel drying.
But it doesn’t stop there, these pumps truly are multi-purpose pumps, extremely versatile, perfect for many applications.
For safe process and systems the built in anti-suck back protection prevents oil mist entering your system. The rapid closing inlet valve acts within 0.4 seconds of the pump stopping, providing reliable and safe operation in almost any application and thanks to the use of wide range motors the pump covers a wide range of possible voltage and frequency from two motor variants.
We can also offer an RV to meet your specific requirements including PFPE prepared and ATEX approved pumps.
Easy to maintain: the O-ring sealed sight glass makes visual inspection of the oil level and condition simple. The oil drain port is located at the end of the oil box for draining oil out of the pump. A large oil filling port and recess in the top of the oil box top makes oil top ups easy.

Acoustic enclosures
The ideal noise reduction solution for laboratories and industrial areas
Edwards’ acoustic enclosures provide soundproofing for your pump operations in laboratories or sensitive industrial work environments. High noise absorption materials reduce pump noise by up to 9 dB (A), without adversely affecting your vacuum pump efficiency.
Compatible with multiple pumps
Fully compatible with all RV and E2M18/28 rotary vane pumps and the complete range of nXDS and XDS dry scroll pumps, our acoustic enclosures can be used throughout your facility to keep operational noise to a minimum.
Significant noise reduction
The top-shelf noise absorption materials ensure noise reduction of the RV by 7 dB (A) – a significant improvement for sensitive working areas.
Easy to assemble
Our acoustic enclosures are easily assembled or disassembled without complex tooling. A removable front panel enables quick visible access to the oil sight glass.
For RV models, a side panel can be quickly removed for access to the oil filter cap.
Ventilation for safe operation
Two integrated air-cooling fans provide ventilation to maintain your optimum pump running temperature.
The enclosure is also supplied with an over-temperature buzzer alarm that comes with battery back-up for added security.
Use the oil finder below to advise you on the correct oil as this can improve your vacuum performance, help with high operating temperatures without oil degradation, so extending intervals between oil changes.
