Data Team Lead

We are seeking a Data Team Lead to join our Business Transformation Team in Korea, playing a pivotal role in building and leading a Data function that supports Semiconductor Service operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to design and optimize our data architecture, while collaborating with cross-functional teams including Developers, Data Scientists, Analysts, and the IS data team.

You will be responsible for implementing data solutions that enhance data quality, flow, and accessibility across the organization. As a contributor to Edwards’ digital transformation, you'll also help drive the development of a future-ready Data function

This is a Korea-based role, with occasional travel to customer sites. Initially, you will function as a hands-on expert Data Engineer while also taking responsibility for building and managing a growing team. Main Responsibilities

  • Create, test monitor, and maintain data pipelines from multiple applications to the Azure Data Factor
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability 
  • Work with IS team to ensure our infrastructure meets the requirements for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from a wide variety of sources.
  • Work with stakeholders, data analysts and data science teams to assist with data related issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in providing greater insight and functionality from our data
  • Work with Data Science and Business Transformation teams to build a function capable of supporting EdCentra 2.0 and Outcome Based Service Contracts supporting >1000 devices under management

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Proven experience leading and building teams, including hiring and onboarding technical talent
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and working with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Demonstrated experience in building and optimizing data pipelines and data infrastructure; familiarity with tools like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience using Azure Data Factory and managing cloud-based data workflows
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis on data issues and translate insights into business improvements
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent English and Korean communication skills - will be part of global team 
  • Exposure to Data Science and Machine Learning principles is desirable.
