What you should know before you replace a gauge tube

Before we begin, make sure that you have the correct tools in an accessible area. For this service, you will need:

-        A replacement Active Inverted Magnetron gauge tube or Wide Range Guage gauge tube (depending on the type of service you are completing).

-        The Retaining Clip Release tool.

We walk you through step by step process of changing your gauge tube for the Active Inverted Magnetron and/or Wide Range Gauge.
The retaining clip

Step 1: Locate The Retaining Clip

Identify the retaining clip for the gauge tube. It’s typically positioned near the top of the appliance. This clip holds the gauge tube in place and must be partially removed before replacing the gauge tube.

Step 2: The Retaining Clip Release Tool

With your Retaining Clip Release Tool in hand, carefully insert it into the retaining clip. The tool is designed to release the clip without damaging it or the appliance. Be gentle as you work to avoid any unnecessary stress on the clip.

Releasing the clip

Step 3: Releasing the Clip

Once the release tool is inserted, gently manipulate it to release the retaining clip. This may involve some slight maneuvering, so be patient and don’t force it. When done correctly, the clip will loosen, allowing you to remove the gauge tube.

Step 4: Remove the old gauge tube

With the retaining clip released you can now remove the old gauge tube from its housing. Carefully slide it out and set it aside. Make sure to dispose of it properly, according to your local regulations.

Step: 5 Install the new gauge tube

Take your replacement gauge tube and insert it into the housing. Ensure that it’s securely in place and properly aligned. Once the new tube is in position, make sure to lock it back into place by pressing the retaining clip. This step ensure that the tube stays firmly in place during operation.
