Edwards Enables - Fair Play
Vacuum processes help make every athlete’s dream of gold honourable. Vacuum technology makes drug screening possible before during and after all major competitions. The integrity of Olympians, champion cyclists and footballers relies on vacuum.
Small Wet/Dry Pumps
nXDS improves on legacy XDS pumps by offering increased pumping speeds, combined with lower ultimate pressures, lower power consumption and lower noise. Gas ballast allows for pumping of condensable vapours including, water, solvents, dilute acids and bases. nXDS pumps also feature the latest in tip seal technology giving significantly longer life between tip seal changes. Integrated inverter drive with auto sensing voltage input delivers optimized pumping performance globally. nXDS pumps are designed to be completely field serviceable.
The nXDS pump is a truly dry vacuum pump, as all the bearings, with their hydrocarbon lubricant, are isolated from the vacuum space. The nXDS pump is suitable for use on vapour handling processes, and may be used for some pumping applications involving corrosive substances and particulates. For information on pumping flammable gases, contact Edwards.
Scroll pumps are an excellent alternative to rotary vane pumps where oil free pumping is desirable. The XDS pumps, with pumping speeds of 5, 10 and 35 m3/hr, in particular use an innovative bearing shield to isolate the vacuum environment from all forms of lubricant not only making them totally dry, but also protecting the bearing from any process gases. Vapour handling is enabled by an adjustable gas ballast; this allows the range of pumps to satisfy many applications that were previously off limits to other scroll pumps.
NGB pumps are standard NXDS/XDS pumps but with the gas ballast feature removed. They are for applications where it is advantageous to have the control knob and machining removed so that it cannot be accidentally opened. Example applications include rare gas recirculation and gas recovery.
Note: Mains leads must be ordered separately, please see the catalogue entry for the relevant standard NXDS/XDS pump for the correct mains lead.
Small EM series pumps are rugged mechanical oil-sealed pumps with speeds of 0.7 and 1.5 m3/hr. Compact and quiet, they feature advanced lubrication circuits, high reliability, and accessories to suit specific application needs.
The Edwards RV series of oil sealed rotary vane pumps are unique in their capability to offer both high vacuum and high throughput performance, which combined with ultra-low noise levels and excellent gas ballast facility, makes them ideal for a wide range of applications and environments. These are available with speeds ranging from 3 to 12 m3/hr.
Medium EM series pumps are rugged mechanical oil-sealed pumps with speeds of 18and 28 m3/hr. Compact and quiet, they feature advanced lubrication circuits, high reliability, and accessories to suit specific application needs.
Our popular RV, E1M18 and E2M18 are available with ATEX approved motors which have an external ATEX classification of either IIB or IIC whilst maintaining an internal classification of Ex II 3G c IIB T4.
The Edwards range of diaphragm pumps offer clean pumping in a lightweight and compact design making them ideal for clean laboratory applications. Pumps can operate independently or as part of a modular system and require minimal maintenance. These are available with pumping speeds upto 2 m3/hr.
