CRAWLEY, WEST SUSSEX, UK. (21st June 2011) — Edwards, leading global manufacturer of vacuum equipment, will be exhibiting its new range of efficient GXS dry vacuum pumps for thermal processing applications on stand C70, Hall 10 at Thermprocess 2011.  It will also be advising on how to reduce energy demand and environmental emissions in steel production on stand B58, Hall 3 at Metec, 28th June– 2nd July 2011.

Edwards is displaying a fully operational GXS dry vacuum pump for the first time and visitors to the stand will be given a demonstration of its exceptional low noise and low vibration. The compact GXS vacuum pump uses patented screw technology to deliver high vacuum performance and increased capacity from a smaller sized pump.  It enables users to optimise their processes resulting in a low cost of ownership and a reduced footprint.

With advanced temperature control, low maintenance and long service intervals, the GXS pump is the most robust and economical vacuum pump for thermal processing applications and sets a new standard in the industry.

Edwards’ experts will also be presenting on ‘Reducing energy demand and environmental emissions in secondary steel processing by using modular dry mechanical vacuum pumping systems’ at
10am on Thursday 30th June 2011, at the first energy efficiency and CO2 reduction (EECR) in the steel industry conference taking place at Metec 2011.

Edwards’ completely dry vacuum pump system is proven to be the most effective during vacuum degassing and vacuum oxygen decarburization processes used in the production of specialty steel alloys.  It enables users to manufacture higher quality steels while reducing energy costs and environmental impact.
